2 suffer minor injuries in Henderson apartment fire

Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after an apartment fire in Henderson late Tuesday night.

Henderson firefighters responded to single-story apartment in the 200 block of Tungsten Street, near Basic Road and Pacific Avenue, about 9:30 p.m. after a neighbor reported the fire, according to a press release from a city spokeswoman. Firefighters saw fire and smoke coming from the windows and began a “defensive attack,” knocking the fire down within minutes, the release said.

Two adults were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. No firefighters were injured, the release said. A family pet has yet to be located. The two adults as well as three children were displaced by the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damage was estimated at $95,000 for the apartment, which was considered a total loss.
