August 14, 2016 - 12:16 pm
A 70-year-old man was hit and killed by a car Saturday night while jaywalking in North Las Vegas.
The man was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard near Lake Mead Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a sedan at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
He was taken to the University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that hit him stayed at the scene and cooperated with North Las Vegas police officers.
Police said alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, and the driver was not injured or arrested.
The Clark County Coroner will identify the man who died and release his cause and manner of death after his next of kin have been notified.
