Accused San Diego shooter said to be Las Vegas resident

A man San Diego police accuse of shooting at officers responding to a domestic violence call on Wednesday, prompting a five-hour standoff that diverted incoming flights at the nearby international airport, has been identified as a Las Vegas resident.

Titus Nathan Colbert, 33 of Las Vegas, was taken into custody in San Diego after a standoff, San Diego police said. He will be charged with attempting to murder a police officer, possession of an assault rifle and several other charges. News accounts based on court records in San Diego show he was a gang member with a serious criminal record.

Colbert appears to have listed a Las Vegas address only since June, and has no criminal history in Southern Nevada, according to court records.

There were no reports of injuries, but all arrivals into San Diego International Airport were put on hold during the incident at an apartment complex in the city's Bankers Hill neighborhood, at the eastern end of its runways.
