Bicyclist hit, killed by car in NLV

North Las Vegas police responded to a fatal auto-bicycle accident Saturday morning

Officers were called to the Lake Mead Boulevard and North Fifth Street intersection at 7:05 a.m. A bicyclist died on the scene after being hit by a Honda sedan, Sgt. Chrissie Coon said.

A 55-year old North Las Vegas woman was driving the sedan south on Fifth Street, while a man on a bike was going west on Lake Mead and trying to cross the street when the crash happened, Coon said.

Coon said the driver had the right of way and that it was not clear if she would face any charges.

Traffic on the intersection was diverted into the late morning while police investigated.
