Body of missing boater recovered from Lake Mead
The body of a man who went missing at Lake Mead last week was found in the water Tuesday, park officials said.
The man, who has not been identified, went missing Aug. 10 in the Virgin Basin area of the lake. Numerous people reported seeing an unoccupied boat floating about 5 p.m. that day.
Rangers confirmed no one was in the boat and started a search, according to a press release Wednesday.
About 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, volunteer searchers from the Earth Resource Group located the man's body near Middle Point using an underwater camera. Crews later pulled the body out of the lake.
The man's name will be released by the Clark County coroner's office after family members have been notified.
