Boy found in ‘liquid container’ dies in North Las Vegas

A 1-year-old boy died Sunday after he was found partially submerged in a "liquid container" inside a mobile home, North Las Vegas police said.

The boy's identity was not released.

Police said they received a 911 call about 10:17 a.m. reporting a possible drowning at the Aloha Vegas Mobile Home Park, 500 W. Miller Ave.

Officers arrived and saw family members performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child. The baby was later pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

Sgt. Tim Bedwell on Sunday afternoon would not release what the "liquid container" was. He said the investigation is ongoing.
The cause and manner of the baby's death will be determined by the Clark County coroner's office.

Police said the incident occurred while the baby was at the home with his 30-year-old father. Police believe his 37-year-old mother was at work at the time. There were also five other children in the home, ages 5 to 17.

The names of the parents were not released pending the outcome of the investigation.

Bedwell said no recommended charges were filed and investigators will have to wait for the coroner to learn how the child died before determining if they'll propose charges.

Personnel with Clark County's Department of Family Services responded and were working to relocate the surviving children, police said. Police said the conditions in the home were found to be "unfit," but provided no details.
