CCSD teacher arrested on charges involving sex act with student

A Clark County School District high school teacher faces charges of committing a sex act with a student, according to Metro booking logs.

Kristy Kay Yegge, a teacher at Veterans Tribute Career & Technical Academy, 2531 Vegas Drive, near Rancho Drive, was working with the school's emergency medical technician program at the time of her arrest on Thursday, said Melinda Malone, CCSD spokeswoman. Yegge has been employed with the district since 2003.

Yegge, 38, is still employed, but "she is not allowed to be on that campus or any other campus" because the investigation is pending, Malone said.

Metro confirmed Monday that charges involve a student, aged 16 or 17, at the school.

In 2012, Yegge was honored as the statewide adviser of the year for heading her school's chapter of HOSA-Future Health Professionals, a national career and technical student organization that prepares high school and college students for the health-care field, according to the school's website.
