Child injured in hit-and-run crash

A 12-year-old child was taken to the hospital with an arm injury Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, Las Vegas police said.
The crash happened about 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Rancho Drive, Metro said.
Police are searching for the driver. A description was not immediately available.
The child was taken to University Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.
