Clash over bad driving leads to parking lot shooting, Las Vegas police say

A knife-wielding man was shot during an argument about poor driving in an apartment-complex just west of the Strip late Wednesday night, according to Las Vegas police.

Officers were called to the parking lot of Spring Garden Apartments at 3880 Wynn Road, near the Rio, about 11:40 p.m., Metro spokesman officer Larry Hadfield said.

A driver exited his vehicle with a knife and charged another man, who was critical of his driving, police said. The man who didn’t like the driving pulled a gun and shot the man who had the knife.

The knife-wielding man was taken to a Las Vegas Valley hospital, but police did not know the details of his wounds or his condition. He is expected to be booked in the Clark County Detention Center in absentia, Hadfield said Thursday.

There were no other arrests, and the shooting remains under investigation.
