Coroner identifies 2nd woman killed in Beltway accident

A second woman killed in a crash on the 215 Beltway Saturday night has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Miriah Weaver, 21, of Black Creek, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that happened about 7 p.m. on the Beltway near South Decatur Boulevard.

Patricia Tucker, 58, of Las Vegas, another passenger in the car, died later at University Medical Center.

Weaver and Tucker were passengers in a Toyota Camry traveling west on the Beltway when it rear-ended a Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes’ driver pulled over to the right, while the Toyota continued down the offramp to Decatur. The Toyota traveled to a parking lot near Wagon Trail Avenue where it caught fire.

The driver of the Toyota, a 25-year-old man from Wisconsin, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. No injuries were reported for the three passengers in the Mercedes.

The people in the two cars were family members and were on their way home, Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Loy Hixson said Saturday.
