Coroner rules Las Vegas man died of natural causes

Updated September 1, 2017 - 6:04 pm

A man whose April death was investigated by police died of natural causes, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives responded April 25 to Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, where a woman had dropped off a man. He died at the hospital.

The coroner’s office determined the 58-year-old man’s cause of death was hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as a significant factor. His death was natural, the coroner’s office said.

Police initially thought his death was suspicious, but Metro spokesman Larry Hadfield said April 26 the man’s death “was not a murder.”
