Daughters of the American Revolution chapter to honor Vietnam War veterans at The Mirage
Daughters of the American Revolution Valley of Fire Chapter will honor more than 80 Vietnam War veterans during a 5 p.m. ceremony Thursday at The Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
The event, billed as a 50th anniversary ceremony, will feature a poem by Ruth Thiele, and remarks by Neil Johnson of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1076, and Phellep Snow of Henderson’s Veterans Affairs Department.
Nevada’s Assistant Adjutant General Brig. Gen. Zachary Doser and Henderson Mayor Pro Tem Debra March are the featured speakers.
U.S. Vietnam War veterans and veterans from South Vietnam’s armed forces will be honored.
“The Mirage has graciously donated the facilities, door prizes, food, and entertainment out of respect for the honorees,” Shirley Dunphy, of the Daughters of American Revolution Valley of Fire Chapter, wrote in an email.
