Desert Inn Road reopens after chlorine spill

Sealed buckets of chlorine fell off a trailer and forced the shutdown of Desert Inn Road from Paradise Road to Valley View Boulevard for nearly five hours Friday.

Las Vegas police said a trailer full of chlorine-filled buckets fell onto Desert Inn Road just after 4 a.m. The truck and trailer hauling the chemicals are thought to be stolen, police said.

No chlorine was spilled, and all of the buckets remained sealed. Police said that though no chemicals were exposed, it was still protocol to shut the street down. Desert Inn Road was cleaned and opened back up just after 9 a.m.
