Dog dies in morning apartment fire

A dog died in an apartment fire early Friday morning.
The fire started about 7:30 a.m. at a two-story apartment building at 2670 Van Patten St., near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road.
Clark County firefighters said the fire was extinguished in just 10 minutes, but not before a dog died in the fire.
Two adults were displaced. Three other apartments received smoke damage. The total damage estimate was $30,000.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
