SILVERTON TO HOST FOODIE FEST APRIL 26-28

The Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, plans to host the third annual Las Vegas Foodie Fest in its parking lot from 4 p.m. to midnight April 26, noon to midnight April 27 and noon to 10 p.m. April 28.

Food trucks, food vendor booths, eating contests, a beer garden, carnival rides and games are planned. A VIP section will feature live entertainment. White Castle is scheduled to bring specialty grills and fresh ingredients for a first-time special appearance at the festival.

PIZZA LOUNGE OPENS AT TIVOLI VILLAGE

Pizza Lounge has opened at Tivoli Village, 410 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 210. The eatery serves gourmet pizza, artisan salads, small plates, beer and wine.

More than 25 pizza combinations are available, including Pear and Gorgonzola, Coconut Shrimp and Farm Goat Cheese Pizza. All pizzas can be made with a gluten-free crust. Small plates include Lobster Mac “n” Cheese and crispy calamari.

The dining room seats 60, and the patio seats 30, with plans to expand it to 70 seats by the end of May. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with dine-in and take-out available. Delivery is planned to start soon.

UNLVINO EVENTS TO KICK OFF THURSDAY

The 39th annual UNLVino is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday, with four tasting events planned.

The event is a fundraiser for the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration’s scholarship program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Bubble-Licious is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday at The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $125 in advance and $150 at the door.

Sake Fever is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at The Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $100 in advance and $125 at the door.

The Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York Hotel & Casino, 3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is scheduled to host the 16th annual qualifying event for the 98th annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Fourth of July contest is held in Coney Island, N.Y. The male and female winners of Saturday’s 3 p.m. main event will be crowned Nevada Hot Dog Eating Champions and represent Las Vegas in the July finals.

A special employee contest and a Heroes competition for charity that will feature military personnel and first responders are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.

FOGO DE CHÃO PLANS JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT FUNDRAISER FOR APRIL 25

Fogo de Chão, 360 E. Flamingo Road, plans to host a fundraiser for Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 25.

The Junior Achievement Dinner Package will feature unlimited servings of 17 cuts of fire-roasted meats carved tableside, a gourmet salad bar with more than 30 items, one glass of wine or one cocktail, unlimited nonalcoholic beverages and dessert.

Last year’s inaugural effort raised nearly $6,000. All proceeds will benefit the organization in honor of Financial Literacy Month.

SOUTH POINT ANNOUNCES APRIL
DINING AND BEVERAGE SPECIALS

The South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering $1 Bloody Marys and Mimosas throughout April at all casino bars and in the Coronado Café. Guests can enjoy $2 Irish coffees at any of the casino bars. The special is available from 6 a.m. to noon daily.

Baja Miguel’s Tequila Bar is offering a $3 Tequila Time happy hour throughout April from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Specials include margaritas, Cuervo shots, well drinks and all beers.

Baja Miguel’s also has a $9.95 lunch special with a complimentary frozen margarita and fideo soup. Choose two entree items from a list of enchiladas, flautas, tacos or chili relleno. Entrees come with rice and beans. The lunch special is available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Steak ’n Shake has four meals for less than $4, including Double n’ Cheese Steakburger and fries and Single Bacon and Cheese Steakburger and fries.

The Coronado Café has $7.95 daily specials available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in April. Monday is roast loin of pork or classic chef’s salad; Tuesday is meatloaf or Greek chicken salad; Wednesday is Swiss steak or barbecue chicken salad; Thursday is chicken a la king or grilled steak salad; Friday is seafood Creole or citrus glazed chicken salad; Saturday is flat iron steak or chicken bruschetta; and Sunday is roasted turkey or tequila lime chicken bake. FESTIVAL OF BEER APRIL 27 AT SUNSET PARK

Motley Brews plans to present the Third Annual Great Vegas Festival of Beer from 3 to 7 p.m. April 27 at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road. The event is set to feature live music, 200 craft brews and more than 50 breweries.

Motley Brews is partnering with the Nevada Craft Brewers Association to create its first collaboration beer, Pyrite Pale Ale, which will be the official brew of the festival.

Early entry will be available at 2 p.m. for VIP ticket holders.

A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Nevada Craft Brewers Association and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas.

The Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation has announced the celebrity chef lineup for its Ladybug Ball fundraiser, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 4 at Aria at CityCenter, 3730 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
