SILVERTON RESTAURANTS ANNOUNCE CHRISTMAS DINING OPTIONS

Twin Creeks Steakhouse at the Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, plans to offer a special Christmas Day menu from 2 to 8 p.m. Dec. 25 for $48. It will feature seared scallop salad or lobster butternut squash soup, free-ranch turkey with foie gras stuffing, sage giblet gravy and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, haricot verts and cranberry pear relish, with choice of pumpkin cheesecake or strawberry trifle for dessert.

Sundance Grill is offering a special meal for $18.95 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with soup or salad, entree choice of prime rib, turkey or baked pineapple ham with black-eyed peas, apple sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry orange relish. Dessert will be pumpkin or pecan pie.

Seasons Buffet plans a special menu from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It is set to feature turkey, ham, candied yams and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, as well as prime rib, fried shrimp, cedar plank salmon and butternut ravioli.

The cost is $26.99 or $24.99 with a rewards club card. Children 4 to 6 eat for half price.

THE RESORT ON MOUNT CHARLESTON TO SERVE CHRISTMAS EVE BUFFET

DOS CAMINOS TO OPEN ON WEST CHARLESTON BOULEVARD

Dos Caminos plans to open a location in Canyon Pointe Plaza in the space formerly occupied by Agave, 10820 W. Charleston Blvd., which recently closed. Dos Caminos formerly had a Las Vegas location at the Palazzo.

The menu will include staples such as guacamole, empanadas and tacos, along with signature dishes, a cocktail menu and a hand-selected tequila menu. An outdoor space is planned with chimineyas and Mexican fire pits. A bar will have televisions for sports and gaming stations.

Dos Caminos plans to open in early March seven days a week for dinner and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

DOM DEMARCO'S OFFERING SPECIAL MENU FOR CHARITIES

Dom DeMarco's Pizzeria & Bar, 9785 W. Charleston Blvd., is offering a special Giving Menu to benefit local charities through December. FLEMING'S PLANS FOUR NIGHTS OF CELEBRATION FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to host four nights of celebration leading up to New Year's Eve, Dec. 28-31, with each event beginning at 4 p.m.

The menu will feature an appetizer of poached Gulf shrimp over Southern-style goat cheese grits. Entree choices are Delmonico steak with blue crab and Gruyere glassage for $74.95, filet mignon and lobster brioche bread pudding for $69.95 and lobster tail with mac and cheese for $ 79. Dessert will be chocolate budino for $9.95.

AMERICAN CONEY ISLAND ANNOUNCES 12 DAYS OF CONEY PROMOTION

American Coney Island inside the D Las Vegas, 301 Fremont St., is offering 12 Days of Coney. Through Monday, patrons will receive a daily gift ranging from free chili cheese fries and discounted Coneys to group offers.

RACHEL'S KITCHEN OPEN AT TRAILWOOD DRIVE LOCATION

Locally owned Rachel's Kitchen has opened a new location at 9691 Trailwood Drive.

The restaurant is the third Rachel's Kitchen in the Las Vegas Valley. The eatery is 2,500 square feet and seats nearly 100 diners and also has a 900-square-foot patio that seats about 40. The patio has heaters for winter and misters for summer.

The culinary event Start Spreadin' the News, which was held Dec. 9 on the Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York Hotel & Casino, raised $100,000 for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Nearly 700 guests, volunteers and supporters attended, including Oscar and Carolyn G. Goodman, Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada senior managing director Larry Ruvo and celebrity chefs, along with 22 restaurants with ties to Las Vegas and New York City taking part. Arizona Charlie's Decatur, 740 S. Decatur Blvd., is offering a special of tenderloin of beef for $39 with an ace I PLAY card and $43.33 without from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and Dec. 25 at Ron's Steakhouse. The special comes with choice of baked potato or sweet potato.

THE VENETIAN, PALAZZO TO WRAP UP CULINARY CLASH FRIDAY

The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and Palazzo, 3339 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plan to host the final competition for Culinary Clash, a new four-week contest for the resort's famed team of chefs, from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday.

The competition will be hosted by Claudine Grant and Robin Leach. It was open to all sous chefs and chefs de cuisine at the properties' 30-plus restaurants. Chefs were challenged to create recipes using ingredients in a "mystery basket" to be prepared in mobile "food truck" kitchens on the Strip at The Venetian's Doge's Palace plaza. The clash is broadcast on a giant screen on The Venetian Clock Tower, and each chef's creation is available for sampling.

The cooking battle is highlighted by street entertainment, a disc jockey and an after party provided by TAO. Celebrity chef judges for the finals are to be announced. The competition winner and a guest will receive a trip to Italy.

TWELVE COCKTAILS OF CHRISTMAS PLANNED AT WYNN, ENCORE

Wynn Las Vegas, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and Encore, 3121 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plan to feature a festive cocktail for each of the 12 days of Christmas by Wynn master mixologist Patricia Richards through Saturday at all of the properties' bars and lounges. Guests can take away recipe cards for each cocktail.

ELDORADO, JOKERS WILD ANNOUNCE DECEMBER DINING SPECIALS

The Eldorado Casino, 140 S. Water St., and Jokers Wild Casino, 920 N. Boulder Highway, are offering a traditional ham or turkey dinner for $8.99 and a combination for $9.99 Dec. 25.

Football specials are planned at The Snack Bar at both locations Saturdays and Sundays in December.
