Customer service makes Woods Family Sandwiches top-notch

The best treasures are usually hidden.

Tucked in the middle of a business complex, Woods Family Sandwiches, 931 American Pacific Drive, Suite 106, serves a variety of subs, wraps, salads and soups. And although the quality of the food is superb, it’s the genuine emphasis on customer service that makes this place a gem.

Opening the Henderson location in early 2015, owner Daelyn Woods is no stranger to the food industry. She owned a restaurant in England before returning to the states to run the sub shop.

In addition, it helps to have business management in the family. Woods’ father, Gene, a three-time U.S. Open National Speedway Motorcycle Champion, owns and operates Gene Woods Racing Experience in Las Vegas.

The family-run shop serves 6- and 9-inch sandwiches, ranging from the Classic Italian (Genoa salami, ham, pepperoni and Provolone cheese with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pepperoncini, deli dressing, mayo and seasoning) to the Turkey Pesto Melt (Ovengold turkey, Provolone, red onion, tomato and pesto).

Wraps include the Blazing Buffalo (Buffalo chicken, bacon, lettuce, ranch dressing and seasoning) and a low-sodium roast beef (low-sodium roast beef, Swiss cheese, red onion, lettuce and deli dressing).

All sandwiches are made with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses on fresh bread. Any sub can also be made into a wrap or salad. Most meals range from $6.49 to $11.

And what’s a family-owned business without a family-friendly atmosphere? The shop includes a kids’ play table and a children’s menu of peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese, and turkey and cheese.

The only downside is the limited hours of operation, but it’s worth a quick stop over your lunch break.
