Dining Pick of the Week: Nosh & Swig

Nosh & Swig

3620 E. Flamingo Road at South Pearl Street, 702-456-6674

Known for its twist on tapas, Nosh & Swig’s motto is to pack as much flavor as possible into its small plates. Not sure where to start? The menu is the perfect guide, dividing dishes into chicken, beef, seafood, vegetarian, pork, cheese and dessert categories. Within each, there are about eight or nine options ranging in flavors and pricing. Guests are invited to order a selection to share with a friend or two or a larger group. The restaurant infuses flavors from around the globe, crafting tasty treats from a mixture of Mexican, Italian and Asian cultures — owner Steve Piamchuntar is part Thai and brings that twist to his creations. The sticky bun tacos, $8, are a good example of Asia meets Mexico, while the bruschetta points, $7, are a tribute to an Italian favorite. The restaurant even has its version of chicken and waffles with the Cocka-Waffle-Doo, cornflake-crusted chicken and a Belgian waffle with blueberry-maple reduction for $11. Make sure to save room for dessert, including Chinese churro, $6, and the Cookiemon, a homemade warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream for $5.50. Tucked away in a strip mall off Flamingo Road, the atmosphere is stylish and modern. Prices range from $4 to $15. Nosh & Swig is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
