Dining Pick of the Week: Park on Fremont

PICK OF THE WEEK:

PARK ON FREMONT

506 E. Fremont St. at Las Vegas boulevard South, 702-834-3160

This is not a park in the sense of green grass and swings. Instead, it’s a great place to park yourself for a sandwich or salad or to enjoy a unique cocktail including Boilermakers, Mason Jar Shooters and Bloody Marys. Among the sandwiches are fried egg burger, Cali Mex burger with guacamole, pepper jack cheese and salsa fresca, fried chicken and waffle, Philly mac and cheesesteak, and the Downtown, where sliced pork and ham are merged with spicy pickles, Swiss, mayo and Dijon mustard. Several salads are Strawberry Summer (grilled chicken, Gorgonzola, strawberries, grapes, candied pecans, diced tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette), Park Caesar, and steak with citrus-marinated steak, avocado, cucumber, tomatoes, red bell pepper, Gorgonzola and candied pecans. There are also fried pickles made with herb semolina crust and served with ranch dressing, chicken bites and chilaquiles, marinated steak with tomatillo sauce, chips, salsa, jack and cheddar cheeses and red onion topped with an egg. Several sides are coleslaw, fries and sweet potato Teeter Tots. Classic sodas include Jones strawberry lime or cream soda, Dr. Brown’s black cherry or orange and Bundaberg root beer. Sandwiches begin at $9, and salads start at $7. Park on Fremont is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
