Dining Pick of the Week: Windy City Beefs ‘n Pizza

Chicago-style pizza refers to deep-dish pizza that can have a crust up to 3 inches tall at the edge. Thanks to Chicago native Tim Korney, Windy City has this authentic pizza. Sample this specialty pie by ordering a slice from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for $4. Thin-crust pizzas are also on the menu with all the popular toppings along with Ultimate Veggie, White, Sausage Classic and the WCBNP with Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black olives and Giardinera peppers. Other featured menu items are the Chicago Italian beef sandwich served wet, dry or dipped, Vienna corned beef Reuben, Polish sausage, Windy City Burger (lettuce, onions, tomato, pickles, special sauce, sesame seed bun, fries) and the famous Chicago hot dog, a Vienna premium beef hot dog on a steamed Vienna poppy seed bun with mustard, onion, green relish, pickle spear, tomatoes, sport peppers and celery salt. Several Windy City appetizers are Pizza Puffs, chili, Supreme beef tamales and Vienna corn dog. Deep-dish pizzas begin at $15.25; thin crust starts at $11. Windy City Beefs 'n Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
