Dining Pick of the Week: Xing Asian Bistro

10 Via Brianza, MonteLago Village,
Lake Las Vegas, 667-7777

Casino MonteLago at Lake Las Vegas has expanded its dining with Xing Asian Bistro, a restaurant with a unique Asian/Latin fusion menu developed by executive chef Jayson Perry. "The food is tasty, tangy and spicy, and you can't find it anywhere else," he claims. Guess what? Chef Perry is right. Where else are you going to find Kung Pao chicken tacos with chili sauce and peanuts, or Mojo flatiron steak with udon ginger noodles? Other items include miso-glazed salmon with black bean and corn pico de gallo, ahi poke salad with seaweed, cucumber, sesame and fried wontons, kalbi short ribs with steamed rice and macaroni salad, lemongrass shrimp skewers, pan-seared spicy tuna with Napa slaw, wonton soup for two and Vietnamese spring rolls with shrimp, cucumber, mint, cilantro and jalapenos. Other popular dishes are pork egg rolls with sweet and spicy sauce, shrimp tempura, yakatori chicken wings, chorizo fried wonton with Korean barbecue sauce and pork tenderloin with adobo beer sauce and brown rice. Several desserts are mango and green tea ice cream. You can dine indoors or on the patio overlooking MonteLago Village. The tapa-style plates begin at $7. Xing is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. - Jack Bulavsky
