CULTURAL DIVERSITY FOUNDATION SEEKS NOMINATIONS FOR TOP EDUCATORS

The Cultural Diversity Foundation is accepting nominations through May 24 for its sixth annual Golden Hand Service Awards in categories of education, business and community.

The awards honor “individuals who have contributed outstanding service to the community and have gone beyond the call of duty to lend a helping hand to someone who was in need of some kind of support,” according to the foundation’s website.

Last year’s winner in education was Webb Middle School principal Paula Naegle, who updated guidelines to make the school safer for students with food allergies. Naegle was nominated by a parent of one such student who approached Naegle about the issue. Naegle also is trying to spread her school’s procedures valleywide.
