Avery Driscoll, 9, of North Las Vegas has been named a St. Baldrick's Foundation 2013 Ambassador.

Ambassadors serve as faces and voices of the foundation throughout the year as a reminder of the need to fund research to conquer all childhood cancers.

Avery was diagnosed with pilocytic astrocytoma, a childhood brain tumor, in June 2011.

She likes to color, paint and work with clay. She sings for her family and friends and is learning to play piano.

A New York Yankees fan, Avery played softball until her tumor began to affect her vision.

Her treatment is scheduled to end this spring.
