Paul Gomez, 16, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.

A member of Troop 99, he helped paint and landscape at Reformation Lutheran Church for his Eagle project.

Gomez, who will be a senior at Advanced Technologies Academy in the fall, is the son of Paul and Kaleen Gomez of Las Vegas.

Caity Rautenstrauch, 22, has graduated from Webster University in St. Louis with a degree in human rights and minors in anthropology and international relations.

Rautenstrauch attended Tarr Elementary School and Molasky Junior High School and graduated from Las Vegas Academy.

She was a member of Rainbow Company Youth Theatre and appeared in productions while at the university.

After completing an internship in the Midwest, she hopes to continue her education in Europe.

Rautenstrauch is the daughter of Mary and Kurt Rautenstrauch of Las Vegas.

Taylor Day graduated cum laude from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., on May 6, with a Bachelor of Science degree in equestrian business management, equestrian instruction and equestrian training, and a minor in business.

She is now barn manager of a 120-horse facility in Katy, Texas.

Day, a 2008 graduate of Cimarron-Memorial High School, is the daughter of Bonnie Moore of Las Vegas.

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada honored several Girl Scouts during its 2012 Young Women of Distinction ceremony May 5.

n Jordan Orris, 18, a student at Green Valley High School, is the daughter of Valerie Orris and Charles Orris.

n Lillian Stolar, 19, is the daughter of Carol Stolar and Timothy Stolar.

n Megan Denter, 14, a student at Del Webb Middle School, is the daughter of Wendy Denter and Adam Denter.

n Judzia Dooley, 16, a student at Green Valley High School, is the daughter of Barbara Dooley.

n Teahl Dooley, 14, a student at Green Valley High School, is the daughter of Barbara Dooley.
