Kneaders opens second valley location in northwest Las Vegas

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe serves the kind of food you’d make for yourself if you had the time — or the recipe for its signature bread.
Now with two locations in the Las Vegas Valley— at 7100 W. Craig Road in the northwest and 11271 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson — it models itself off the family-owned European bakery concept, where breads are baked daily, the aroma wafting through the air.
That old-world satisfaction is repeated in its breakfast plates, sandwiches and salads.
Before ordering, one has to pass a bevvy of baked items in display cases, a tactic to entice the palette. Be prepared to be tempted by double fudge brownies, macaroons, carrot cake, German chocolate pie, berry patch pie, raspberry bread pudding and individual desserts such as key lime tarts and red velvet cakes.
But the main menu carries plenty to divert your attention.
Breakfast features Kneaders’ signature chunky cinnamon French toast. Have it with fresh strawberries, cream and caramel syrup. Sourdough pancakes can be had original or cinnamon spice pecan style. Or try the banana cream pie French toast.
Omelets run the gamut from Greek (spinach, mushroom, feta) to Italian (sausage, basil, red pepper) to American (ham, broccoli, cheddar). Breakfast sandwiches include ham, bacon or sausage (with or without egg) and cheese on a croissant or ciabatta roll.
Sandwiches include turkey bacon avocado on focaccia bread with Provolone; turkey, ham and beef club on French country bread; chicken, cheese and ham on ciabatta roll; French dip on baguette; and the tuna on hazelnut 12-grain bread. Hot sandwiches include turkey artichoke on focaccia with mozzarella; chicken pesto on French country bread; Reuben panini on rustic rye; and portabella grille on ciabatta with zucchini and Parmesan cheese.
No European sandwich shop would be complete without croissant selections. Kneaders offers chicken salad with water chestnuts, celery, pecans and a sour cream vinegar sauce. The turkey cranberry croissant includes Swiss cheese. Cafe sandwiches include the Classic with Kneaders sauce, Provolone, tomato and red onion and choice of turkey, roast beef, ham or pastrami. There is also the Ranch with turkey or roast beef, a ham and cheese, and a cheese lovers one with Provolone, Muenster and pesto butter.
Perhaps a salad is what you need. Kneaders has more than half a dozen choices, all available in half or full sizes: turkey bacon avocado; turkey cranberry sunflower; Thai chicken salad; Southwest BBQ chicken; chicken a la mode; chicken Caesar; chicken raspberry nut; and green avocado.
And when the weather has one craving something warm, check out the soup of the day.
Hours at the Craig Road location are from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed Sunday. Call 702-831-5906 or visit kneaders.com.
