Child sponsors needed

The Doolittle Senior Center, 1930 N. J St., is set to host its Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The center is looking for individuals to sponsor a child in attendance. Children are chosen by their school's administrative and support staff.

Contact the center in advance to receive information on purchasing gifts for a selected child. Then plan to attend the breakfast with your gifts and spend time with the child enjoying the morning's activities.

Walmart foundation donates
to catholic charities

The Walmart Foundation, through its State Giving Program, has awarded Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada's Meals on Wheels a $140,000 grant.

The funding will support a year of service to homebound seniors and reduce the current waiting list.

The funding will also allow Meals on Wheels to increase its client caseload and provide more meals for a year.

SAFEKEY OFFICE TO RELOCATE

The city of Las Vegas' main Safekey office is set to be relocated to 416 N. Seventh St. effective Jan. 7.

The office is currently at 1651 S. Buffalo Drive, and in order to facilitate the move, it will be closed to the public from Dec. 24 to Jan. 6.

EL CORTEZ GIFT DRIVE TO BENEFIT
CASA FOUNDATION'S EFFORTS

The El Cortez, 600 Fremont St., will be accepting donations through Dec. 20 during its annual gift drive for the Court Appointed Special Advocate Foundation of Clark County.

The CASA Foundation's local chapter provides assistance to children who have been abused or neglected and have found themselves in the legal system through no fault of their own.

The foundation aims to meet the needs of the children by funding tutoring programs, recreational programs and personal development programs on a child-specific basis.

Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at the El Cortez's casino cage during the gift drive, and all guests who donate a new, unopened gift valued at $5 or more will receive $10 in free play. Free play can be redeemed only once and will be given only to those who provide a receipt showing proof of value with donation.
