EVENT TO OFFER RESOURCE TIPS
FOR LAS VEGAS VALLEY BUSINESSES

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is slated to host a free resource-building event for local businesses from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the South Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center, 3150 Paradise Road.

Representatives from utility companies, government agencies and various other industries are set to be on hand to discuss topics such as risk management, alternative funding, social media and more.

COFFEE CHAT TO FOCUS ON PROGRAM
AIMED AT MAKING STUDENTS EMPLOYABLE

The Las Vegas Clark County Library District is slated to host a coffee chat at 10 a.m. Monday at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd., to introduce its Project EASE, Educational Assistance to Support Employability.

The event is designed to provide potential students with information on a program set to teach them marketable employment skills.

The eight-week class is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday from Sept. 24 to Nov. 16. Space for the coffee chat and class are limited.

MARKETING GROUP PLANS
ANNUAL BREAKFAST MEETING

Commercial Marketing Group plans to host its monthly breakfast meeting featuring speaker Sean Fellows from Commercial Alliance Las Vegas at
7:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Las Vegas Country Club, 3000 Joe W. Brown Drive.

Fellows is set to speak about legislative elections. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

SENIOR CENTER LUNCH TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY

The Las Vegas Senior Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road, plans to host a lunch in celebration of International Chocolate Day at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for $5 per person.

The event is set to feature samples of chocolate from throughout the world.

NO-TIE FLEECE BLANKETS TO BE CREATED
AT DOOLITTLE SENIOR CENTER EVENT

The Doolittle Senior Center, 1930 N. J St., plans a gathering in which seniors can make no-tie fleece blankets at 1 p.m. Friday for $1 per person.

Attendees are encouraged to bring 2 yards of a solid fleece material and a pair of scissors.

PROGRAM TO SHARE TIPS WITH CAREGIVERS OF THOSE WITH MEMORY LOSS

The Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road, and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health plan to host an educational program for caregivers of those with memory loss at 6 p.m. today in the library's small conference room.

AGRICULTURAL WORKSHOPS PLANNED

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and Utah State University Extension plan to offer a Nevada Building Farmers workshop from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday , Sept. 18 and Oct. 1 at the Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Road.

The class series is set to teach business marketing techniques to new and experienced farmers . Registration for the three classes is $150 per person, which includes lunch and program materials, and is limited to 30 participants.
