‘Shark Tank’-funded vegan bakery Cinnaholic sets up Las Vegas franchise

Las Vegas is in for a sinfully sweet vegan treat.

After surviving the hit ABC TV show “Shark Tank,” Cinnaholic founders Shannon and Florian Radke have found success and rapid growth. Luckily for the city, the southwest was chosen to host a franchise at 4165 S. Grand Canyon Drive.

The Berkeley, Calif.-based bakery is 100 percent vegan, meaning that the rolls are all dairy-, lactose- and egg-free with zero cholesterol. The bakery uses baking sugars derived from beets, marshmallows free of gelatin and other ingredients flavored with fruit, spices and plant-derived oils.

That doesn’t mean the sweet treats are low on calories, but they are worth any sugar-induced comas.

Customers can create their own unique cinnamon roll from a selection of 30 flavors and toppings.Among the frosting flavors are chai, cotton candy and Irish cream, while toppings include cookie dough, pie crumble and marshmallows.

A standard roll with vanilla frosting is $4.75, while flavored frostings are 25 cents per flavor and toppings are 50 cents per topping. The baby buns are $1.75 with any frosting.

Those who are unsure what to get can opt for the store’s tried-and-true creations displayed on the window, such as the Blueberry Pie, Triple Raspberry or Salted Caramel.

The Triple Raspberry has a delightfully sweet and fruity flavor with fresh raspberries on top of the soft cinnamon-filled dough, while the Classic Roll with vanilla frosting, strawberries and pecans perfectly compliments itself, with frosting dripping from the warm roll and a delicious crunch in between.

The bakery also sells cookies for $2, brownies for $2.50, and an 8-ounce container of cookie dough for $5.

For those celebrating a special event, the bakery has “Cinnacakes,” which include one frosting flavor and up to five toppings. Prices are $45 for a small, $50 for a medium and $65 for a large. A 24-hour notice is required.

Depending on the time of day, there isn’t much of a wait. The store warns, however, that those in a hurry should call ahead since a new batch of rolls are made every 20 minutes to make certain they come out soft, fluffy and warm every time.

The store has seats inside and also sells almond milks, juices and water.

Cinnaholic is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call 702-248-0244 or visit cinnaholic.com/las-vegas.
