We are very appreciative for the fine opinion piece by Herb Jaffe concerning mail theft ("Metro asks for public's help in stopping mail theft," Feb. 18 Summerlin-area View). It's a criminal issue that needs to be addressed by the community at large, and his words addressed those concerns. We encourage everyone to keep an eye on their mailboxes — and their neighbors' — and immediately report any suspicious activity to 9-1-1. If your box has been vandalized, call our Inspection Service at 877-876-2455.

Can't we get the city to tell the people who water their lawn curbside everyday they have to get artificial turf? So much is on the road that the cars splash it all over the cars, which were clean. Check out Hacienda Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard at the corner of the light. What a mess. Not only is the water wasted, but we have to use more water to clean our dirty cars. In the long run, Spanish Wells would be saving money.
