Driver killed, passenger hurt in two-vehicle collision

A male driver was killed and a passenger was critically injured in a two-vehicle collision at U.S. Highway 95 and Decatur Boulevard on Sunday morning, the Highway Patrol said.

The identity of the deceased driver was not released.

Trooper Jeremie Elliott said the collision occurred about 7 a.m.

Elliott said a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north on Decatur while a Pontiac Sunfire was traveling west on the U.S. 95 offramp. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, he said. The front of the Tahoe struck the driver's side of the Sunfire.

The driver of the Sunfire died on scene, while a passenger in the vehicle sustained critical injuries. The driver of the Tahoe sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The collision was under investigation Sunday afternoon.
