Firefighters put out house fire in central Las Vegas

A house fire in the central valley caused $20,000 in damages Friday afternoon.

About 1:30 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to a “boarded-up house” at 1105 Tumbleweed Ave., Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

The cause of the fire is unknown. The department has indicated that it believes squatters were living in the residence at the time.
