Southern Nevadans are invited to participate Saturday in Zumbathon for Community Health from 10 a.m. to noon at the West Career and Technical Academy at 11945 W. Charleston Blvd. in Las Vegas.
The event is the culmination of a gathering of health care professionals this week organized by the National Nurses Health Institute. The conference brings together doctors, nurses, therapists and others emphasizing health improvement strategies relating to diet, nutrition and exercise.
Combining dance and aerobic elements, zumba is a fitness program that incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. The zumbathon is the final event of the National Nurses Health Institute’s three-day gathering in Las Vegas. The zumbathon is free to participants.
