Henderson apartment fire displaces 16 Tuesday night

A fire at a Henderson apartment complex Tuesday night displaced 16 people, fire officials said.
First responders arrived at the complex at 305 Eastminster Court, near Burkholder Boulevard and North Major Avenue, about 9:10 p.m. and saw a second-floor unit fully engulfed in flames, a release from the Henderson Fire Department said Wednesday.
Crews extinguished the fire in the two-story building and prevented it from spreading to the other five units.
Two pet birds died in the blaze. No one was injured, the release said.
Sixteen people and their pets are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The fire caised $518,400 in damage. Its cause has yet to be determined.
