Henderson man arrested in connection with father’s death

A 21-year-old man was arrested Monday night in connection with the shooting death of his father, Henderson police say.

Eugene Mbaui Tshiyombo and his father, Mbayi Ngenza, 68, argued the night before the fatal shot was fired, the city of Henderson wrote in a release Tuesday.

At about 12:30 p.m. Monday, police responded to a missing person call at their house in the 2400 block of Foxmoore Court. Later that day, officers went again to the home after a family member called with information about the man reported missing, Ngenza.

When they arrived, they found Ngenza dead from an apparent gunshot wound, the release said.

Tshiyombo faces a charge of murder and is being held at the Henderson Detention Center.

This is the fourth homicide investigated by Henderson police in 2015.
