Henderson motorcyclist dies in crash on Boulder Highway

A 20-year-old Henderson motorcyclist died Wednesday morning after he fled from a police car and crashed.

Henderson police said a patrol officer spotted a pair of motorcycles traveling "at a very high rate of speed" on Racetrack Road about 3:15 a.m.

The officer attempted to pull them over, but neither would stop.

The officer turned off his emergency lights and did not attempt to pursue the motorcycles, police said.

Police said one rider went west on Horizon Drive and the second rider went north on Boulder Highway.

The motorcyclist on Boulder Highway crashed into the back of a Honda Accord driven by Randy N. Finn, 61, of Henderson.

Police said the motorcycle was traveling faster than 100 mph and drove through several red lights before the crash.

The man died at the scene. Finn was treated at a local hospital and released.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash. It's unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors, police said.

The Clark County coroner's office will release the man's name after his family has been notified.
