King Vultures find new home in Las Vegas zoo
October 14, 2011 - 3:19 pm
A pair of King Vultures have found a new home at the Southern Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park, 1775 N. Rancho Drive. A native species of Central America and South America, the King Vulture is often depicted as a glyph in Mayan codices.
The vultures came to Las Vegas via the St. Louis Zoo. Local zoo staff are looking for suggestions to name the new pair.
