ELKO -- Authorities in Nevada are releasing little information about a shooting that left a Lander County sheriff's deputy and another man wounded at a home between Austin and Battle Mountain.
State Department of Investigation Deputy Chief Dave Jones told the Elko Daily Free Press that Deputy Derek Zacharias was wounded by gunfire when he and another deputy responded to a domestic disturbance call late Monday at a house off State Route 305.
Both wounded men were taken to Battle Mountain General Hospital and then to a Reno hospital for treatment.
