Las Vegas man charged in fatal May shooting

A Las Vegas man is facing a murder charge after a fight led to a shooting last month, Las Vegas police said.

Christopher Dillon, 28, is accused of shooting Isiah Boggess on May 9. Boggess died in a parking lot at 4581 Carriage Park Drive, near Sahara Avenue and Nellis Boulevard, after the two fought earlier that day, a police report said.

On June 17, an investigation led police to Dillon, also known as “Flame,” who was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on unrelated charges, according to an arrest report.

Dillon told police that he was riding a bike at Magdalena’s Vegas Mountain Neighborhood Park and that he and Boggess got into a verbal altercation that turned physical. Dillon said he tried running away because Boggess was “bigger,” but that he “got his ass kicked,” police said.

Dillon said that he left his bike and other belongings behind and that Boggess threatened to shoot him, police said.

Later on May 9, Dillon returned to the park after changing into black clothing. He asked for Boggess and was directed to the Carriage Park Drive apartment complex just north of the park, police said.

With his gun out and wrapped in a shirt, police said that Dillon approached Boggess, who was with three other people. Police say he shot at Boggess eight times, striking him once in the back.

Boggess was found kneeling outside of his car with his head resting on the driver’s seat and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

Dillon told police that he was embarrassed that Boggess had beaten him in the fight and that he regretted returning to the park.

The gun used was sold and the whereabouts are unknown, Dillon told police.
