Las Vegas officer treated for injuries after vehicle strikes his patrol car

A Las Vegas police officer was injured Thursday morning after his vehicle was struck by a suspected drunken driver.

Police reported the incident at
4:46 a.m. at Decatur Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue.

Police said the officer was driving west on Hacienda at the Decatur intersection when a vehicle driving east attempted a left turn onto Decatur, striking the patrol car broadside.

The officer was taken to University Medical Center and treated for a leg injury. Police said the officer probably will be treated and released. His condition was unknown Thursday night.

The other driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI charges.

His name was not immediately released.
