Las Vegas police officer injured after patrol car hit

A Las Vegas police officer was injured after his patrol vehicle was hit near the 10000 block of Maryland Parkway, according to police.
The officer responded to an earlier accident around 5:30 a.m. south of Silverado Ranch Boulevard. While waiting for a tow truck to arrive, the patrol car was struck on the driver side by another vehicle.
The officer was inside his car at the time of the accident and was transported to the University Medical Center with minor injuries.
The accident is still under investigation.
