Las Vegas police seek suspect in early November slaying

Las Vegas police on Thursday requested the public’s help in looking for a man they said shot and killed another man in the southeast valley in early November.

Homicide detectives said 45-year-old Virgil Woods kicked in a door at a house in the 4600 block of Amberleigh Lane, near Vegas Valley Drive and South Lamb Boulevard about 5 a.m. Nov. 9. Police said Woods then shot a man in the home and fled.

The wounded man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he later died, police said.

That man has been identified as 21-year-old Joshua Rudy Oglesby, according to the Clark County coroner’s office. He died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Woods is described as thin and standing 5 feet, 5-inches, police said. He is bald and has a tattoo, which police could not describe, on the right side of his neck.
