A man suspected of killing a woman near Circus Circus on Saturday morning has been arrested in California, according to Las Vegas police.
Kevin Meade, 27, was identified as a possible suspect on Sunday. He was stopped in Hemet, Calif., where Metro detectives traveled to interview him, police said.
Upon further investigating, police obtained an arrest warrant for murder with a deadly weapon, police said.
Metro and the California police department are waiting on extradition, Metro spokesman officer Jesse Royball said.
Cassandra Rosete, 27, was found dead on a sidewalk after a shooting in the 2600 block of Industrial Road about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.
An initial investigation from homicide detectives determined that Rosete was shot by a man who then fled the scene on foot, police said Saturday.
