Lone Mountain Park has reopened

Lone Mountain Park has reopened just in time for fall.

Hikers, joggers and horseback riders can now use the new, paved 2.2-mile equestrian trail that opened Wednesday, on the equinox.

Security fencing had been put up in April to expedite the work, but it blocked access to existing trails. They are now open, too, the county said.

Richardson Construction, the contractor for the project, will continue working on the park at 4445 Jenson St., near where Lone Mountain Road crosses the 215 Beltway. Additions will include an equestrian practice arena, two covered round pens, a children’s equestrian-themed playground, a picnic pavilion, and a horse trailer parking lot.
