Man in southwest valley murder-suicide identified

One of two people found dead on Wednesday in what Metro called a murder-suicide was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office on Friday.

Fred Fensch, 87, and his wife, who has not officially been identified, were found dead shortly before 8:30 a.m. after a welfare check in the 5200 block of Torrey Pines Drive, near the Hacienda Avenue intersection, Las Vegas police said.

Fensch died of a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner said. Police said that it appeared that his wife shot him and then turned the gun on herself.

The woman will be identified by the coroner at a later time.
