Man killed in traffic accident on Spring Mountain Road

A 26-year-old woman was arrested on drunken driving charges Saturday morning after her 2003 Hummer collided with a 1997 Ford Escort, killing the male driver and injuring a toddler.

Las Vegas police said Shauna Miller of Las Vegas was arrested in the 7:21 a.m. accident at Wynn and Spring Mountain roads after she failed field sobriety tests.

The 33-year-old driver of the Escort was pronounced dead at the scene. A 2-year-old in the car was treated for minor injuries at University Medical Center.

Police said the Escort was headed south on Wynn and the Hummer was headed west on Spring Mountain .

Miller remained in the Clark County Detention Center, pending arraignment on Monday.

It was the 30th traffic-related fatality in the Police Department’s jurisdiction, which includes the city of Las Vegas and unincorporated areas of Clark County.
