A 41-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a car in the central valley Saturday evening, police say.
The male pedestrian, Jason Miller, of Las Vegas, was pushing shopping cart while crossing the north side of Wardelle Street from east to west, when he suddenly "darted" into the crosswalk of westbound Bonanza Road, a release from Metro said Sunday morning.
Miller was struck by a westbound 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, operated by 29-year-old Las Vegas man Alex Vindiola. He was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit with life-threatening injuries, the release said.
Vindiola and the other occupant of the Chrysler, Merranda Cunningham, 35, of Las Vegas, were not hurt in the crash.
Las Vegas police's Accident Investigations Section is investigating.
