Man who kept woman’s body under trailer gets 10 to life in prison
A man who killed his ex-girlfriend and kept her body under his trailer home was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison Wednesday.
Authorities said Valentine Kaul, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in September, hid Angie Simms' body under his home for at least three days after she died.
Kaul, 58, reportedly quarreled with Simms at his mobile home in the 4600 block of Crystal Peak Drive, near Lamb and Las Vegas boulevards.
Kaul told a friend that Simms had thrown scalding water on him and hit him with a skillet, knocking him unconscious, according to police.
After Kaul regained consciousness, he punched Simms in the mouth and placed a pillow over her face, police said.
Kaul told police that after he realized Simms was dead, he wrapped her body in trash bags, tied with wire, and dropped her into the crawl space under the trailer through an access panel in the bathroom, police said.
