Man wounded in overnight shooting in central Las Vegas Valley

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in the central valley that sent a man to the hospital in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

It happened about 1:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of Torrey Pines Drive, near the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard, Metro officer Laura Meltzer said.

A man walking north on Torrey Pines was approached by four other men, between the ages of 18 and 24, one of whom shot the lone man multiple times, police said. The foursome then fled east through a nearby apartment complex, police said.

The injured man was taken to University Medical Center and is in critical condition, police said Wednesday afternoon.

Meltzer said Metro has not made any arrests in the shooting. Police described the shooter as a clean-shaven black man who was last seen wearing a red USC sweater.

Anyone with any information about the shooting can contact Metro at 702-828-8577.
