Metro finds ‘large amount of narcotics’ in drug house bust

Metro released more information Wednesday on a drug house officers uncovered during an in-progress burglary the day before.

Las Vegas police found burglars had broken into a home in the 2000 block of Brassy Drive, near the intersection of Charleston and Nellis boulevards, at 8:41 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release.

While searching the residence for burglars, the officers found “a large amount of narcotics inside,” the release said.

The burglars who had left for re-enforcement returned while police were still inside, Metro said. The burglars tried to run, but officers caught them.

Five juveniles are in custody for charges related to the burglary. Because of their ages, their identities and booking photos will not be released.

About $140,000 cash, 260 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 30 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms and nearly five pounds of Ecstasy were among the items police seized.

Investigators also found about 60 pounds of spice, a form of synthetic marijuana, about 4 grams of LSD and 5.5 grams of Xanax.
