Metro ‘renders harmless’ suspicious device found at car dealership

A suspicious device found at a southwest valley car dealership was rendered harmless by Las Vegas police Saturday afternoon.
Police evacuated the Findlay Kia Dealership, 5325 Sahara Ave., near Decatur Boulevard,when an employee found the item that looked to be a homemade device inside of a car that was traded in.
Metro’s ARMOR unit responded.
The device “had some explosive quality, but was rendered harmless,” said Metro spokesman Lt. Ken Romane. He declined to further describe the device or offer more details.
The Subaru of Las Vegas car dealership, 5385 Sahara Ave., announced on its Facebook that police sent its employees home because of the incident.
Police cleared the scene, but the incident remains under investigation.
